Tag Swap is BACK!! Sign ups start NOW!

Hi Everyone,

So, after receiving emails urging me to continue with the tag swap. I couldn't bare to disappoint you all. So, it is officially BACK ON!!  Unfortunately, that means that there is not a lot of time to make them if you join the January Swap. Because they need to be in the MAIL before January 20. I will take sign ups now! Same rules apply but you do not need to include an extra tag for me. You will just make 5 tags for your group and you will receive 5 tags back, because I will have 6 in each group. So make 6 tags if you want to have one of your own tags.(But don't mail me your tag for yourself.) I will also post a list of the themes as soon as can.  Theme for January is.......FAIRY TALES.

Whatever you interpret fairy tales to be....your life may be a fairy tale, you may have a prince or princess in your life, your job may be a fairytale, or you have a fairytale romance with your spouse!!! A favorite movie or book that is a fairy tale, you may live in a Castle....you may love FAIRIES!!!! Those are just some ideas. I will try to put up a tag video but on such short notice I can't do it until next week....So sorry!!

Ok so here is the group list....

They must be mailed before the 20th of each month as usual.

Return postage stamps must be included.

Large enough envelope with your return address written on it.

Anyone who is late will be banned from swapping for the next month,
unless you have a valid excuse. It is not fair to everyone else who is on time.

Thanks for all of your kind words and thoughts during this happy time. :>

Going MIA-Missing in Action

Hi Everyone,
My daughter's wedding is on Sunday. So, just FYI that I will be MIA until Monday. I will post a few pics here of the wedding. I'm excited but it has been a bit crazy here with the wedding and trying to keep up with my store, so pardon me if I am a bit slow responding. My brain is going in too many directions. Hopefully, it will be back to normal next week. :> Thanks for your understanding. Have a superb weekend!!

Here's another card sketch from PCP

JOIN THE TAG CRAZE

Hi Everyone,
I'm on a tag craze these days. It may be because of my Monthly Tag Swap, but I have made a few tags this last week. I have a few pictures below, and I have two videos on You Tube. If you haven't checked out my YT Channel, just go to YouTube.com/PinkScrapper99. Don't forget to add the 99 at the end. :> Because that is the age I will stop scrapbooking. Just kidding. I would be so lucky to live that long. Also, if you like any of my videos, you can also post them on your own blog for your followers. Just use the embed feature on YT.

I also wanted to share a few tips for beginner scrapbookers because this is what I did when I got stuck. You can use this list for cards, scrapbook layouts, tags, etc. When I was new I would go through a list of things in my mind to add to a card when I got stuck and didn't know what else to do. If you go through the list, it may help you and spark your mojo. So, here goes.

Add things like:

Buttons
Punches
Ribbon/Lace/Fibers/Trims
Rubber Stamps
Distress Ink
Flowers/Leaves
Flower Pins
Sewing Stiches
Acrylic Paint
Glimmer Mist
Diamond Dust
Perfect Pearls/Pearl Ex
Bling
Glitter/Stickles
Glossy Accents
sayings/titles
stickers
charms or jewelry
embossing/dry embossing
metal pieces
tags
Vintage Photo
Feathers
Chipboard Embellishment
Die Cut/Cricut Die

Hope that helps you. Print it out and keep it at your craft area and add to the list!  Here are my tag pics as promised.  Thank you!!

FREE LINE ART FOR COLORING!

Hi Everyone,

I HAVE to share this great site I just found for line art images. It's so amazing what you can find if you Google. I bet you will never have to buy another stamp if you use this site. But, we will anyways right? Well, when I got Copic Certified, I was on a hunt to practice coloring. I found that I wanted MORE images to color because the stamps I owned were not necessarily all coloring type of stamps. What I do is right click on the image and "save as" to save it to my puter. So, here is the site. ENJOY!

Is that love or what?

Hi Everyone.  Here's a picture I took of my Pug, Brody and my cat, Jazz.  While I am scrapping away into the wee hours of the night/morning....this is what they do.  Brody is the one snoring in my videos. Sometimes he snores louder than my husband! It's funny.  I did not know that Pugs snore when I got him. But, I love him so much that I overlook his one flaw. LOL. These two are buddies.  My cat will chase my dog....and vice versa. But, my cat, Jazz is really the boss of the house. My hubby calls Brody my Mini-Me, because he will follow me everywhere! I mean EVERYWHERE! When I scrap until 3 am, he is right there with me.  Talk about love right?  I would love to hear your stories about your fur babies. Please comment below! :> Also, have a great Fourth of July!

Sites for Vintage Photos

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are starting your week off to a good start.  Someone asked me where I get my vintage photos from, so I decided to post it.  Whenever I find an image that I like, I will save it in a folder on my computer. I don't use a lot of sites to collect images, but I think these two are awesome. If you would like to add one, just add it in the comments section. I've been busy doing a mini series on Tim Holtz' Lost and Found paper collection. I really love his paper.  I decided to do more kits in my store too, because I love being able to have people try out different products, different embellishments, etc.  So, if there is a kit you would like to see, please let me know.  So, here are the two links I promised. Enjoy!

Have your cake and eat it too!

Here's the final picture of the cake I made for Kayleigh. I am also going to attempt to make a wedding cake this year...hahaha.  The recipe is delicious. It's an Almond Vanilla Cake with Sour Cream. The cake itself was not hard to bake. But, the decorating was a challenge. The kids loved it, and I got a thumbs up from my daughter on using the same recipe for her wedding cake!! Yay. I think next time, I am trying fondant...and maybe my Cricut Cake Machine too....Enjoy!

I did it!

I'm so happy I took the Copic Certification Class! I learned so much from Jennie Black. It was so
worth it for me because now I am able to teach Copic classes locally! We learned about the
color wheel, coloring techniques, skin color choices, airbrushing, and mainly had so much fun!
I guess that's what happens when you get women together to craft, right?? Please stay tuned
because you will see more as I build up my inventory of Copics! Have a great week!

Hi Ladies,

I am soo excited because I will be attending the Copics Certification Training in TWO WEEKS!!! I have wanted to attend this training for over a year, and it is finally coming to my area! I honestly do not know what that will affect as far as my You Tube videos go, but I think I will always be a Multi-Media Artist. But, as I learn more about Copics, I can also teach you what I know!! As you know I love to dabble in alot of crafts...hahaha! As long as my pocket book can handle it. But, Copics are awesome and I really want to use them in my projects. So, watch for something new by the end of June because I will be totally excited to share it with you!!! Take care!!!

Seems like Spring Showers are here, or should I say thunderstorms? I guess that gives me more time to craft. I've been working on my goals for this year, and so far, I have two of them completed.  The next one is to get published. I don't really need to do it for fame, or fortune, or even recognition.  But, it seems to be a big deal to say you have been "published".  I am happy just to be doing my own thing. So, amongst my other scrapbooking aspirations, I will be submitting my art to various magazines. If anybody has any tips for me, just leave me a comment or email me. Thank you, and have a glorious day! :>

ANNOUNCING NEW MONTHLY SWAPS!

Hi Everyone-

***SWAPS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR JUNE, YOU CAN NOW SIGN UP FOR JULY**

I'm so excited to announce a few new swaps on my blog. These will be monthly ongoing swaps for beginners and advanced crafters. When I first started papercrafting 16 years ago, I participated in every swap I could so I could learn from different people. So, this swap will include a swap group for beginners. I have heard many people say they won't swap because they are scared to swap with advanced crafters, so this will help them ease into it. They are both tag swaps because mini albums are too big, and tags(the larger 4-5 inch ones) are perfect because they are small and quick. So here are the 3 swaps. Sign ups start today for June Swaps. Rules are posted at the bottom of this post. (NAMES WILL BE ADDED AS PEOPLE SIGN UP.

EMAIL ME TO SIGN UP AT PinkScrapper99@yahoo.com

4.    Mail to me by June 15(15th of every month and I will mail out on the 20th of each month).

5.    Please try to follow theme of swaps, but don't run out and spend money to do them-get creative! You need not use the newest papers or embellies- just have fun!

That's it. If you have questions, just ask me, I am happy to help you.

Mother's Day Gift

This is a super gift for Mother's Day! I helped my Grand-daughter, Kayleigh, make this for my Daughter.  She is going to love it because she made one just like this for me over 15 years ago! Please try it and tell me how you liked it.  Here is the poem for the gift! I have also posted my You Tube video! ENJOY!

You always clean the fingerprints
I leave upon the wall
I seem to make a mess of things
Because I am so small
The years will pass so quickly
I’ll soon be grown like you
And all my little fingerprints
Will surely fade from view.
So here’s a special handprint
And a picture of me too
So you’ll recall the day
I made this just for you!

Card for PaperManiac.com

Check out my card using We R Memory Keepers
Tiffany paper collection.
I love this paper so much! And it is simple
and stamp free! Hope you like it.

Hi Everyone!

It has been a fun filled week demonstrating for Provo Craft.  I met so many people and even learned some new tricks from one customer who had 90 cartridges!!

I am glad it's over because my legs and feet hurt from standing.  I will also be demonstrating the CRICUT CAKE!! I just found out today!!

I am also planning a giveaway which I will announce as soon as I feel better to post the video!  Here's a picture of a fabric flower I made a while ago. I used pink satin fabric and cut circles in 2 sizes. Burned the edges with a BBQ lighter, then hot glued them together.  I used pearl ex on a floral leaf. Then just add a feather, tulle, and pearls and VOILA! You are done.

Tag Swap with Deb

Hi Everyone,

I had my very first tag swap. I have done alot of card swaps in the past, but not a tag swap ever! So when Deb asked me to swap, I said SURE! I love making tags and it is an easy way to swap just with one person. I got my package from Deb today and I was so excited to see what she made. She is a very talented lady and I like her style of scrapping. After a long day teaching a mini album class, this was a very welcome package!! It always makes me teary eyed to see that someone took the time to make ME something by hand. I know it takes alot of time and thought when you make something, so it truly means alot when another crafter makes something for me. :> And if I am on the giving side, I hope that whatever I make is liked by whoever I give it to. A lot of times if someone admires my project- I will just give it to them because I know they appreciate it. Thank you Deb!!!!

Hi Everyone--

Just wanted to say Happy Easter to you. I made a video of my Grand-daughter's Easter basket. Baskets are so much fun to make because you can put things in there to personalize it. You will see all the things Kayleigh likes in her basket. She's 3.

I hope you have a super fun day tomorrow. Take care!
