Where did I go??

 Hi Everyone!

I'm so excited to be revamping my blog! It has been quite a journey in 2020 and it prompted me to

put my thoughts on paper through journaling but also as a way to reconnect with my crafty friends.

It is times like these that we start to remember what is really important to us. And for me, that is my family and friends!

So, get ready because I have a feeling I will be posting weekly here!! If you haven't caught me on my

My new passion...Tilda !

This is my first Tilda doll. I have about three more in the making. Since I am also a quilter/sewer, this was natural for me to gravitate towards. Tilda dolls are easy to make, but you must have patience when turning and stuffing the dolls. The part I am trying to learn more of is how to do Tilda hair. For me, the hair is part of the dolls personality. lol I have yet to find one that I love, but I will keep trying. It's also fun to dress her.  I hope you like my first Tilda. Stay tuned for more!!

Month of July

July has been a busy month for me! I have been creating up a storm lately. I have four birthdays this month to prepare for amongst just my daily life. But, I'm not complaining, I love to be busy.  I am also teaching my grand-daughter, Kayleigh, to sew. She is only eight years old, but she is my little crafter. She has been stamping ever since she was two years old!! Yesterday, she made a pillow for her Barbie dolls. Teaching her is one of the best things I can do for her and it truly brings me great joy.  If you are on my facebook page, you can see a photo of her sewing!

I am also finishing my three month term as a HandiCrafts Supplier DT member. I love that their products are recycled. Here are some photos of my latest projects and you may see some of their beautiful flowers on them too!  Take care everyone and bye for now!

Check out my altered birdhouse!

As many of you know, I love to go thrift store shopping. Recently, I picked up this gem and altered it. I can't find the original photo I took but it was hand painted with leaves and flowers like we did in the 80's. lol   I used Webster's Pages paper on this project and Prima flowers. Hope you like it.

My friend Gina at MyScrapRoom.ning.com hosts a challenge on her website a few times a month. This challenge was to use an embroidery hoop and use a few other things on it.  This is what I created as an entry for the challenge. Each time, she also gives prize to a random winner. Please be sure to check it out on her website.

But, teaching locally is going to be an exciting venture for me!! I appreciate all of you and wish you the best blessings in 2013 !!! <3

Year in Review Projects

Hi Everyone,

This year has been one of challenges, learning, and excitement for me. I was published in Somerset Studio Magazine, co-hosted a Talk Radio Show, celebrated a new Grand-baby, moved my parents to live nearby, and currently building a new house(almost done!).  I am grateful for many things in my life and feel very blessed to have friends and family in my life. Here are a few of my favorite projects from 2012. I am excited to start a fresh new year!!

A few projects

Hi Everyone, Like many of you, I have so busy this holiday season. I am planning Christmas dinner, buying Christmas gifts, and taking care of my parents. I did manage to squeeze in a couple projects and I'd like to show them to you. I found some snow globes last year at Michaels, and decided it was a great time to alter one.  I had to make a small house out of wood and scrapbook paper, which was a challenge but I like how it turned out! The next project is a card I made for a friend. I hope you enjoy them!

Update

Hi All, my new Grand-daughter, Alexah came home almost 2 weeks ago and is over 5 lbsnow. She is still tiny but what a personality. She loves being the center of attention. She stayed up for about 45 minutes yesterday when I visited her. And I loved every second!

My parents moved here with me in Idaho on November 18. I had to organize their move and boy, did it take alot of time. Since they are handicapped, once they arrived, I also had to arrange homecare and find new doctors, etc. Things have calmed down a "little" but I even managed to squeeze in some crafty time. I have a few things I made for some friends, and as soon as I can, I will take photos and post them for you!

In the meantime, I will start my Christmas shopping because it's just around the corner guys!! <3

I have another Grandbaby!

Hi Everyone! I'm sorry I have been MIA. I have been dealing with alot in my private life. But, the exciting news is that we welcomed Alexah Kealani into our family ! My daughter carried Alexah for only 33 weeks. We were so worried that Alexah would be under developed at this age but she has proven to be such a "rock star"! She was born on 11-11-12 at 4 lbs 6 oz. Every day she has improved too. I finally got to see her in the Newborn ICU department of the hospital. A few of the issues with premie babies are that they have not developed the skill to suck, breathe, and maintain their body temperature. But, sweet little Alexah has conquered the almost everything she has been challenged with. She has just started to breastfeed and once she perfects this skill, I'm sure she will be allowed to go home. :) Here is a photo of this little "rock star". We love you Alexah !!

Enjoy the Moments card

Hi Everyone!!
The holidays are sneaking up on us once more. I am starting to feel pretty nostalgic and appreciative of the life that I have. The featured saying is from Dusty Attics. I could not help but paint and glitter the chipboard and make it the main focus of my card. I hope this card inspires you!

Altered Coffee Cup for a friend

Hi Everyone,  I was inspired to alter a coffee cup and lid, after going to McDonalds and buying a cup of coffee....lol I have seen these done before, but for some reason have never done one until I had the coffee cup in my hand. I thought it would be a pretty fun project to do. My friend Bonnie's birthday is the end of August, and she loves the color blue. So this is what I made her. I hope she likes it.

HI Everyone, Thank you for your prayers and support while I have been sick this summer. I am happy to be able to craft a little more and post a couple of videos.  Here is a few photos of a project I have done recently using Marion Smith's printable Cottage Chic papers.  Hope you like them.
